There should not be any oil in the vacuum servo. You have a leaking master cylinder. Dennis

Ok, I have mushy pedal that eventually goes to the floor at stoplights on inclines. I now have new rear shoes and calipers. I just purchased a new master cylinder and upon draining all the nasty, partially blackish brake fluid I removed the old master cylinder to discover--- fluid or oil, lube? in the the vacuum servo unit! Is this normal? I hope so or else cha ching! at some parts outlet. As the sun sets in the west, I gather my tools, and begin planning my day with public transportation. Any advice or help is appreciated. Craig |
