Hi all, I would appreaciate any suggestions about buying a vanagon with a notchy 2nd gear and 98,000 miles. Notchy meaning that 2nd gear was hard to seat if I could seat it in its place at all. The seller also made the mistake of putting the green anti-freeze in. Having just done a head replacement on a 1990 2wd (which was totaled two days after i finished, in a rear end collision). Other problems with the car are power locks only work when in the car, a tampered with oil drain plug (threads had been replaced with that of a spark plug (which is odd because the bolt sits out 1 inch more than it is supposed too), and a steering wheel that was out of alignment. The only thing i am really woried about was the notchy 2nd gear, any advice would help.

ps: He was asking $3,150 and I told him that I would give him $2,000. He said that he would consider it.

thanks all, -reggie Maryland RIP 1990 vanagon 2wd with new amc heads named mojo
