Entity Mel Miller spoke thus:

> I cannot find parts or repair > manuals on it since it is not a US model. I am not aware of any major difference in the Euro and NA models of diesel engine/ injection system. If there were, can someone give a synopsis of the difference? Look on the side of the block under the exhaust manifold, you will probably see "1.6" cast in the block. If so, it is a 1600cc diesel.

> I have a fuel problem - fuel comes to the injection pump but not to the > injectors. What about "infusion"? In this method you feed fuel into the pump's intake by gravity. If the pump has been dry for a while it can't get enough vacuum to pull fuel into itself so the solution is to hang a can with fuel siphoning into the pump as you spin it. One more trick-you can remove the injectors as you crank it for faster spinning and less power loss, but the soft steel heat dissipation washers under the injectors are a one-time deal, you should replace them with new ones for good sealing.

> Monday we take the guts out of the fuel solenoid to see if the > problem is with the solenoid or with the injector pump. Very unlikely the solenoid is faulty. When the pump doesn't work, take it in to a diesel rebuild shop and give them the 380$. I had mine done last year in Albuquerque-Motive Power, you'd be surprised at the various problems it solved. The pump itself is pretty much unserviceable, so don't even try.

> Does anyone have suggestions for these parts here in the US?

> (at least that is what the local dealer says.) Dealers don't know nuthin, never ask them for advice and only but parts from them if you're desperate. Just take the pump off and give it to a diesel injection service.
