Tom,

Drop the head liner up front and the vent duct above the sliding door, Run the wires from the radio to the right above the glove box, up the right side pillar, back along the channel above the right door, through the vent ducting above the sliding door (there may be clips to hold the wires installed here), and into the cabinet. On the stock factory set ups VW used three wires since the speakers shared a common ground. If you are using a factory radio this will work okay but if you are using an aftermarket unit run an extra ground. Do yourself a favor and buy, beg, borrow or steal a fish tape.
