Wake Up! I have seen employees at the Mecklenburg County landfill in
Charlotte, NC take an ax to freon lines in old
Refridgerators.............when an old car goes to the junk yard, in most
places it is crushed and goes to a car shredder...........no one is removing
the freon before it goes thryu the shredder........BTW where does the freon
go when it leaks out of your air conditioning system? THE AIR!
And do you REALLY believe that that big black soot that pours out of diesel
trucks and vehicles is OK for the environment?
Ever drin thru a town with a steel mill? There is fallout
everywhere........I have a pretty little city called Georgetown SC about an
hour from me.........there is Brown dust all over all the buildings, but
the steel mill says it is not from them...................there is a factory
called ORMET that smelts aluminum in Hannibal Ohio.my great grandfather has
a farm 20 miles away.........the fallout from that plant reuins about 20% of
his cows teeth, and twice a year ORMET send s vet out to all the farms in a
surrounding area buying these damaged cows at market value.............
So before you get on your high horse about one individual disabling his EGR
Valve, look at the big picture. It is a grain of sand in the Mojave desert.
I am not condoning the disabling of emissions devices, but government rules
making an owner keep the 20+ year old emissions controls in perfect shape
while these other conditions exist is pure hogwash.
