They're a very light press fit -- grooved top fits over the aluminum
lip.  But they're also sealed with a very tenacious silicone RTV.  Start by
running a razor blade around the seal, then very carefully start prying up
at one corner and gradually work it around.  Takes a good deal of both
force and care.
