Here's a Friday topic for everyone....... Is it okay to drink alcohol
inside the bus when you're parked?

I'm surprised that you need to ask that question.
I can only recite the Alcohol rules for Texas, here goes.
#1) Your van must have the proper street address clearly marked .(Fire
Department Regulation)
#2) If you live under a bridge you need to have the name of the bridge on
your van somewhere clearly visible. (US Post office Regulation)
#3) If you live in the woods off an interstate you will need the nearest
Mile Marker number on your bus, IE MM 235S would be mile marker 235
South. (Department of sanitation regulation)
That is about all that is required to declare your bus as a residence.
Keep your curtains closed and as long as the neighbors don't complain you
can do anything in a bus as you could do in a permanent structure home.
Many of the residential bus purist put their busses up on blocks and
install mobile home skirting around them.
Once you declare your bus a residence you no longer need license plates,
inspection stickers, liability insurance but you will need to buy
Homeowners insurance for your own best interest.
If you are parked under a bridge or in low lying terrain be absolutely
sure that you can get flood insurance coverage.
If you are one of the lucky few with an air conditioned bus be sure you
keep the weeds cut from under your muffler and exhaust system. Even if
the weeds are green the heat from running your A/C unit will dry them
out quickly and they become a fire hazard.
Always remember! You cannot step, outside your bus to urinate. An empty
plastic 1 gallon milk bottle will hold enough for one nights heavy
drinking but if you're the type that binges for several days you may want
to consider using a 5 gallon plastic pail.
Don't forget your other requirements.
Lay in a good supply of Depends disposable diapers and plastic bags to
dispose of the used depends.
Obey the law!
When you sober up ........... walk to the nearest Litter Barrel and
dispose of your cans, bottles and depends.
As best I remember "Litter Barrel" is in most cases one mile. The walk
will do you good.
