Subject:      question regarding clutch bearings and shifting problems

As I continue to ponder the cause of the new problem of not being able to
get into any gear when the engine is on, I have a question....


Could a bad pilot or throwout bearing ("bad" meaning a gurgling noise was
regularly heard with the clutch pedal depressed) have gotten "worse"
leading to the shifting problem that I describe above and in my prior
e-mail (urgent shifting problem)?

If it's any help, the clutch pedal continues to feel normal, there are no
leaks around the master or clutch slave cylinder, and the fluid level in
the resevoir appears to be normal.
