Seems normal (at least, it happens in mine too...).

There is enough pressurized propane in the lines between the tank valve
(under the van) and the stove knob to act as a small 'tank' of propane. If
you let it burn off long enough, you will eventually bleed all the pressure
out of the lines, and the burners will go out... it just takes longer than
you would expect.
