Mr.No Name, You are entitled to your opinion but you are way off base. I have heard early versions of the I-4 described as "Buzzy" but vibrating so bad as to loose fillings? Get real. As far as Audi is concerned ,If you think changing the valley pan gasket on one of their V 6s is tough you are definitely some l kind of mechanical weenie! Try a rack or radiator on a type 44 , (5000,100,200 for the uninitiated). There are a couple of tough jobs. Oh! by the way I have owned 5 Vanagons ,both air and wasser; rebuilt both engines and have gone Tiico because I wanted to stop worrying about throwing a rod somewhere in Wyoming. My formal training is in aircraft mechanics and for me the I-4 is what VW should have sold to us from day one. Also , sign your name so that the unknowing in your neck of the woods can get second opinions when you dispense your "Wisdom". Tom Salami
