Hi folks, After asking way to many questions about O2 sensor gremlins for the 2.1, I finally have some info to contribute myself. Developed some stalling problems- hot, cold, didn't matter. Just happened sometimes. Today driving in the rain it got intolerable/undrivable. After staring through the windsheild for a while, I reverted to my old mischief: unplug the O2 sensor, of course. Restarted, the idle stabilized and I made it the five minutes home. I pulled out my trouble shooting printouts from the list archives, along with threads I'd saved over the past year and went to work. To shorten the story: I was getting up to 5 volts leaking or inducting across from the O2 sensor heating circuit, effectively blowing the ECU's mind (and hopefully not it's hardware). Just back now from a twenty minute test drive, with the heater element disconnected, and there's better power and performance than in weeks. I'll inspect the wiring by the cat when it stops raining, in the meantime I'll gladly run with less than efficient sensor. I just wanted to express my gratitude for the list in general, and everyone who contributes and maintains it. I wouldn't have been able to even approach this fix without you. Have a good night, Matt Sutton 88GL
