If the pilot bearing is seized, would I still be able to start the engine with the gear shift in neutral and just let it idle? As of now, if I'm idling in neutral and press the clutch pedal, I CAN'T even move the gear shift lever into any gear. In reverse, it really growls/grinds upon trying to move the gear shift lever. In the other four gears, there's just a faint whirring when I try to move the gear shift lever. I'm just curious about all of this, and I fully recognize that I'm going to have drop the tranny to see what's going on. I just wish that I could do it myself.
