Whereas a virus can come from any machine, having Chris's email wouldn't seem real indicative since he uses hotmail through it's website. I am pretty sure I'm in his address book, since we've chatted a few times, and I haven't seen a thing yet. I rather hope not to. The ATTN: sympatico.ca users message indicates a Canadian IP from the headers which is probably a bit more accurate. Either way I recommend www.antivirus.com Trend Micro's online email scanner to supplement your normal antivirus, it updates frequently, and has listed bugbear since before it achieved it's current status and public enema number one. I too received a message that supposedly came from Chris with a virus attachment. Assumed it was pulled from someones address book, but maybe with two with Chris's name it is on his machine. |
