Terry,

I have a transmission that I thought was good but I am hearing a
clunking in too.
I thought it was the CV at first too.  My sound is not so dull though.
The transmission moves the vehicle fine but I don't trust it to go
far!
I have several AT in need of repair.  There was a guy posting that he
was
going to sell set by step pictures but I haven't heard from him yet.

Recently I have been experiencing a dull thumping noise on my 84
vanagon.
In the past I have always been able to trace it to the CV joints which
after
replacement or repacking with new grease eliminated the noise.  This
time
the noise did not go away.  My greatest fear is the transmission may be
in
on its last leg. Has anyone had this expereience ?
