If the employees are the end-users it is indeed Beta testing. Been doing this a long time, I know all the processes too well.

I never knocked Ron, only Microschmeg...

Sorry, but if your own employees are doing the testing, it isn't really a Beta test, no matter what you choose to call it. Beta testing is testing by outside people representative of the eventual end users. And, as someone else pointed out, Ron is actually offering compensation in the form of a discount.
