I have a manual 84. I just loosened the cable stop bolt and pulled the cable out of the connector. This is all right on top of the throttle body area. If you don't get it I can look it up in my manuals or maybe Etka.

Folks, I'm in the middle of dropping the engine and sending it off to Boston Bob. I can't for the life of me figure out the right way to detach the throttle cable from the throttle, though -- can I just loosen the nut on top there? I've got a manual tranny, btw.
