Yes tint works. I live in Australia and tint is required to make the car bearable. My stationwagon is very dark green and the tint does cut down heat and glare in summer. As for durability, the car was tinted from new and it was delivered 1995. Also the film helps reduce flying glass fragments in the event of breakage.
