Subject: FS: 1971 Type 2 Panel Van $1500 from Vanagon trade-in
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

I know this is not the best place to post this but thought some of you are loaf/bay window owners too.

Anyway, I recently sold my 1982 Double Cab 1.9td. The guy was short on cash so I agreed to take his 1971 Panel in trade to get things done. So here it is sitting in my driveway. I'm just recovering from an illness and have no motivation to do anything with it.

It runs really well though a bit bumpy. Probably needs shocks. The nose and the driver's side door needs some minor cosmetic surgery. I already got a replacement front bumper. I've already changed the windshield with a good used tinted version. It does have a tiny stone chip on the left side. Front windshield rubber is new. Service records going many years back are a who's who in SF Bay Area VW repair biz.

Anyway, I'm sticking it here and on CL for a week or so. If nothing happens then it goes to ebay. If you look at the Samba, you will find that panel vans in similar condition are usually around $2500. I am asking $1500.

For the uninitiated, the 1971 panels were the first year for disc brakes; last year for oval taillights; last year for the Type 1 engine; only year for the dual port heads IIRC.

OK, nufsed.

BenT
