Anaerobic refers to sealants that harden after the air is displaced. This is how Lock-tite products work. They also make sealants based on this process. Can't remember the name and I am out of town but any good lock-tits display will also have these sealants.

I plan to replace a seal on a jetta engine and the Haynes manual asks for an anaerobic gasket sealant. Anybody know what type (i.e.name) of sealant this would be at your FLAPS?
