Here on Long Island I party at any insurance bill under $500 for 6
months. I don't know what those liability limits are but they must be
awful low. Low liability limits do not keep someone for suing for more
and with so many vehicles now costing 40-50K, I would hate to be buying
someone a new SUV because I made a mistake. I also car "under insured
motorist" protection in case I have a run in with an "under insured"
motorist.

A while ago I was complaining about why I couldn't insure myself and not
the vehicles.
I have 3 Vanagon's and a 68 bus so the insurance can add up quickly.

Everytime I got insurance I told my agent or his secretary, I just need
the minimum that the state
requires...

I found the minimum listed on Illinois' web page.  They had my coverage
much higher.
I was paying $163.00 for six months this is Liability and Property
damage only.

It sounds like by lowering the coverage to the required level I'll be
paying $129.00 for six months.
I'm disappointed in my agent.
