I occasionally see a silver lowered Carat on the road around where I
live in the Blue Mountains in the Land of Oz.
The van besides looking very cool, has a badge on the back with the
word "Turbo" on it.
Just as you are now all thinking "yea sure,he just stuck the badge on"
I did too, however I tried to drag him off once,in a friendly manner to see
if he was all bullsh*t, but....this thing took of like a scalded cat.
My van is pretty spritely being generally unladen and with a 5sp gearbox,
however I couldn't keep up with him.
I'd be worried about the gearbox handling the extra power more than the
heads but I think this particular Carat may be an auto....so I guess he
gets away with it...
Anyway if you wanna check out a turbo on a wasserboxer, check out the
url below for our Volkswagen club...Club VeeDub Sydney Inc.
Steve Carter, our webmaster has a 2.1L waterboxer in his '72 Beetle
