I hoping someone here will be able to shine some light on this situation. A while back, may radiator fan ('87 Syncro w/ac) stopped working at low speed and the high speed would come on sitting in traffic or while city driving. Now high speed does not come on either. I've done the test of jumping the connectors at the sender unit and all I get is a clicking coming from behind the fuse box. I have replaced the resistor behind the driver's headlight and still nothing. How can I test to see if the fan itself is working...can I run power directly to it to establish wether or not it functions before I start looking for problems elsewhere? (I'm not too experienced with automotive electronics, so take it easy on me). There also seems to be some confusion from people I've spoken with as to which relay controls this fan. Any and all help is appreciated. This fan is EXPENSIVE to replace ($700+ at dealer and $400 aftermarket!!!). Thanks! Kevin '87 Syncro Westy (trying to stay cool) |
