If you are careful, you can re-use the black plastic base for the dash bulbs and replace them fairly cheaply. I broke the soldered on leads on the bulb, removed it, bought cheap and very similar bulbs (without the base) at an auto-parts store (bring the bulb and base with you ;) and replaced it. It was just a matter of bending the new leads straight, carefully threading them through the base and folding them up where they were soldered. Once the whole unit is put back in the dash, the connection holds the leads in place. Rob '89 Westy |
