I have a diesel bellhousing on my previously gas, '87 Syncro Westy TIICO right now. The original gas bellhousing was found to be cracked in several places to the point the starter would bind. The VW garage only had the diesel and it slid right on. Bob Stevens http://groups.msn.com/BobsPhotoShare
