If you get a decent rebuild, with a few mods which are reasonable at the time, like .090 cam, ratio rockers, possibly a new chip in the ECU, and a 5 speed tranny conversion, you can go anywhere you want - uphill or down, or across the desert - with adequate power AND long engine life. That little engine poops out plenty of power at 3000 rpm to do just about any task. You might not be moving like a ball of fire but it will haul the load and not burn up. The 5 speed will allow good highway speed at a more reasonable rpm than "flying with balls to the wall" to use an old pilots expression. And yet give a good range of operation for mountain climbing.
