Diesel and Luftboxer (D/L) trannies interchange. Wasserboxer trannies use a different shifter set-up. The D/L trans uses a shifter that attaches near the front of the trans. The wasserboxer trans linkage hooks up near the center of the trans. The gearing between each is substantially different as well.
