This was one of the few modifications I did on my own (and I hear the snicker of many list members since I've *whined* too frequently as of late).

At my Wal-Mart, in the lighting section, there were 3 GE Halogen lights in a package that are separate lights designed to be spaced up to 3 feet apart. (They are silver and match my Grey interior.) They run on a 12V converter from a 110V source, so I simply snipped off the converter and removed the incandescent strip above the rear table. Finding the wiring took a little time, but there's a plug behind the tray above. Be careful when removing the incandescent strip: the cable is stapled to the particle board cover sandwiched between it and the upper tray so pulling it won't help. I think maybe the draw is 3amps.

I can email pics of finished product if you'd like.

Love, Light & Laughter, Jay

Hi. 3-year lurker here. Finally bought a 91(90) Westy from a fellow listee last month. I need too add/replace the wimpy interior light near the stove. Any suggestions?

I recently saw Larry Roadhaus's LED track lights that were really nice. Another Westy owner had several small fluorescent lights lined up together. What would the power consumption be on this?

Thanks, Ralph Channell 91 (90 in CA) White Westy "Das Fort" (still working on the name)
