Why not just use POR-15? Well for starters it DOES chip easily, and the main reason LP tanks rust so fast is becouse of where they are located-(They get sandblasted with rocks over time). Even a super strong epoxy wont stop these rocks from chipping away at the paint untill bare metal shows. Dont believe everything the POR-15 guys tell you, rust WILL "creep" or migrate under the painted POR-15 surface, eventually. Ive used a few quarts of POR-15, its a good product, but by itself it is not, it needs to be covered with paint immediately or the sun's UV's will turn it green and it wont retard rust anymore. Nothing ive tried seems to stick to POR-15 after its dry, except the POR-15 "Topcoat" paint. This topcoat paint chips easily as well, really, try it with your fingernail its not good for coating undercarrages, LP tanks or wheel wells that get blasted with rocks daily. Oh, and Epoxy paint will melt POR-15 Topcoat.....so a thick rubberized coating OVER POR-15 should be the best IMO, anyone else?
