Howdy Mark,

Visit a good marine store and buy a spotlight designed for a 25-35' yacht. It will allow you to mount it on the centerline of the roof and allow you to control it with a small handle. The shaft seals will keep it waterproof also. The more expensive models incorporate a 12v pan tilt mechanism so that the beam can be controlled by a keypad in the van.
