Glue on the waterpump seal is not good. Normally, I dont recommend glue on any VW engine (with the exception of areas that need glue according to physics and reality). Glue on a rubber seal or gasket does nothing but lubricate the seal/gasket making it more prone to "walking". This will lead to premature failure of the original sealing agent. Check your Bentley; there are very few mistakes (none of which apply to glue).
