Once when I was a Joshua Tree NP, in the middle of a climb I looked down and saw someone with a Vanagon camping down below. Cool, I thought. I looked a little more and noticed this person had a cat on a leash, tied to the van. Strange, I though. I've seen people walk their cats on leashes on rare occasion, but not tied to a vehicle while camping. Must have been a unique and cool cat to enjoy camping.

That's almost a strange as the people who were walking their cat in a state park without a leash. It looked like it was OK until the cat noticed me and my 2 big dogs coming down the trail. Last I saw, the people were trying to coax the cat out of a tree.
