Right, so the MANY T1 engines that use this are buying several new engines every mile? Right...

IF you build it right IT WILL LAST... cut corners and it will not...

That is why IF you plan on increasing power in a WBX from stock, you NEED a counterweighted crank or you will toss a rod... stronger rod bolts will not stop this...

The crank flexing increases with power unless correctly counterweighted crank to balance the two rod journals on one side.

If you want your engine to last build it right, not just enough to get buy...

You can even build a WBX to turn 6800 RPM and live a long life, just get the Lutz chip that raises the low factory RPM limit.

Change the rods to stronger and lighter and increase piston size, add Turbo Ceramic coatings and a few other performance goodies and BAM, you can turn up to 6800 RPM and blow the Subies and many (not all) of the other weak engine conversion away... Change fuel injection system and a few other modifications and you can turn 10,000 RPM in a WBX engine... It has been done in T1 engines and the WBX is really a beefed T1 engine with water jackets... You would have to loose the power steering and A/C and get a modified water pump but it would fly...

I am tired and have a 2300 mile trip ahead of me so I will not respond to anyone for the next 3 days...

Robert
