Is there a better mousetrap or must we southerners continue to suffer smelly mold infested carpets, and pop-top flocking fungus'? Right now I have a hairdryer pointed at my soggy rug, its a pain but it works. Believe me or not, a year ago i installed a new skylight, and vent seal/boot....i used plenty of silicone on all the fittings and i STILL get leaks. Of course being parked on a steep driveway so that the hard rain was hitting that skylight at an angle did not help...but the skylight leaked badly even while driving. The open/close knob leaks as well as the gasket in 2 places no matter HOW hard i tighten. So I think i have looked everywhere for a better design or a vent cover that goes overtop the skylight but nobody makes the oddball westy size which is like 13.5X17.5".....most American roof vents are 14X14" but MAN do they have options! check out the links below. "Maxxair" roof vent covers are inexpensive and would be the best way to go IMO but of course they are too narrow. Me thinks one could be modified though(cut front front to rear, and extend the two halves using epoxy+glass....has anyone tried this? Im open to suggestions but ive about given up og the Westy skylight. Thanks for reading thus far http://www.dyersonline.com/mirror/Hardware-Roof_Vent_Accessories.html http://www.jcwhitney.com/catsubpic.jhtml?CATID=3372&BQ=rv&TID=8011425 anyone?
