You might ask on the Audi-VW-Diesels mailing list, hosted on Yahoo Groups. There are a lot of people there who are really knowledgable about VW diesels. My understanding is most people are choosing to go with the 1.9L turbodiesel these days, instead, because it bolts into the same hole and puts out significantly more power. If you're thinking of putting this in a Vanagon, there are some significant issues with mounting and plumbing the turbo. The parts to do it the factory way are only available in Europe, but people have cobbled it together in the U.S. with reasonable results. It usually requires modifying the left engine mount and the oil pan; it's definately *not* a bolt-in.
