Subject: portable A/C in Vanagon
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

I have used a portable window A/C in my Vanagon for years, and have been asked about it at Busses Nowhere near the Arch and other shows. I use a small 5,000 BTU unit and it works well. You must fashion a base that keeps the weight of the unit off the glass, and a box that sits on the base. Getting the profile correct is the hard part. I then use a ratchet strap going from the cleat in the cargo bay (Westfalia) down to the wheel lip to hold the unit against the body of the van. Steve Sandlin Steve's Lock Shoppe
