You might be right, in the shade, but in the sun the vehicle's AC system has
a hard time keeping up, and it's a lot more than 2000 btu.

On the flip side, 2000 btu of heating wouldn't be very much.  I have a 5800
btu PlatCat in my Westy, and when the temperature gets near freezing, I have
to lower the top to stay reasonable.  If I do much cold weather camping I
will have to make some window insulation.

$150 will buy you a 5000 btu AC, and a 1500 watt (~6000 btu?) electric
heater.
