Subject: Go Westy Performance WBX Longblocks
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Hi all,

Does anyone have any direct experience with the performance Waterboxer longblocks being offered by Go Westy these days? I cannot find any info in the archives.

I would love to hear anyones thoughts, comments, opinions etc.

So many choices for engines these days, Subie 2.5, TDI, Tiico, Audi 5 cyl, Eurocars 2.2, Boston Engine Big Valve Heads...

I quoted the description of the engine below. The link is:

Thanks for any and all input.

Cory

------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2268cc with 9.3:1 compression estimated at 120HP: $895 over base rebuild cost. The increased HP figures are estimated, as we have not yet tested the output of these engines, however they are probably conservative. With the following upgrades you get all of the regular items included in the regular 2155cc engine rebuild (see previous page), plus:

Specially machined crankshaft with 80mm stroke. Specially machined connecting rods for 80mm stroke. Go Westy exclusive modified 95mm pistons. A different, exclusive GoWesty proprietary camshaft grind specifically for this engine. This engine requires 91 octane fuel and will pass tail pipe emissions test. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
