Subject: Running VERY HOT 91 Vanagon

Date: Thu, 26 Jun 2003 21:03:33 -0700 From: Mike Miller <mwmiller@CWNET.COM> Mike, Not sure what you mean by fan working normally. 95 is hot and I was surprised that in this heat wave we had in sf bay area that running my AC switch on with the compressor off because the high presssure safty kicked in actually caused the temp gauge to be lower than it's normal operating temperature. Of course the 450 watt fan was running at 450 watts to do this. This suggested to me that the temp sensor in the front for the fan relay has a bit of a disonnect or offset with the sensor in the rear that is connected to the gauge we all focus on. Needless to say the inside temperature was ugly until the ac would kick on from time to time. gary Subject: Re: Running VERY HOT 91 Vanagon

Mine has started running past the light. Red light came on today with the outside temp about 95. Radiator fan works normally. Rebuilt engine 20 k ago.

Rats.

Mike
