If you buy the high quality stainless steel Aeroquip hoses with the teflon
linings, they should be good to At 10:42 AM 6/28/2003 - 450F or so.  Not
sure the exhaust pipe itself gets that hot although the cat prolly
does.  If I wanted to get my oil temp down(currently at 230F in the
summer), bad enough, I'd find a route around the exhaust pipes.  The
firebraid stuff would likelybe good insurance for any hose.  Really long
hoses seem to drop oil pressure some, but my engine insurance for now is
spelled  C A S T R O L   S Y N T E C !!  I had an awesome cooler on my 79
loaf and that modified dual two barrel weber motor and it never got over
210F in the worst Arkansas 100+ days climbing hills with canoes on top of
the van.
