We just cleaned the evap and ours was also just filled with lint, etc. You will need to drop the housing. The way we did it was to pile up boxes etc. and finally a pillow or something soft that won't scratch the housing for the top of the stack. Then we removed the 6 bolts holding up the housing so we could drop the housing a little. At this point, you can remove the grill by sliding it up and out. It may take a little effort to get it out, but it DOES come out.

I noticed the filter on the rear window being dirty, but haven't tackled that yet.

The latch for the sliding windows has a standard screw underneath. Since its a tight fit, you'll either need one of those screwdrivers with a flexible shaft, or a right angle screwdriver to get to it.
