Rob- Adam is right- the value is 1.00-1,000 not running. When not , it's a
roll of the dice.
Sort of like asking what the value is of a classic car with gray primer- it
makes a buyer wonder why the seller is bailing out.
I buy these and put them back on the road. you can at least break even .
I bought a 87 Wolfsburg with a blown engine for too much but found a good
engine for 600.00.
There are ways to improvise, adapt and overcome ------------------

The value is $1000 max...................but hey no one is going to buy it
for that without running it first, for you have to be able to shift that
$3500 trans or you are really rolling the dice..............
He may have $6000 in it...but why not but another $2000 in it and keep it?
He will never recoup his $6k, and if he gets another van, chances are he
will sink $$ into it, too..............
so if he likes it, keep it.....if not, he ought to put int on ebay.
I just looked at a synchro about 300 miles from me.......not running. Got
it to run in about 3 hours, drove it, and tranny was
great............however tested for exhaust gas in the coolant, and yes it
was present, Blown head. No deal there.........
