On my '88 Westy, the A/C coils sit in a plastic "pan" and there are hoses at either end which drain into the air intakes at each side of the van. If the hoses break or slip off the pan, you will have water dripping out of the front of the a/c housing onto the rear seat. If you take the very back panel off (where the tiny shelf is in front of the top of the rear hatch, you can shine a flashlight in and see the hoses. If you have skinny arms you can also reach in and reattach them if they have slipped off.

If one looks at the rear of the van, should water drip from the left, right, or center? I've noticed it in *all* those three locations on mine and when it drains from the center, water obviously evaporates quickly as it hits the exhaust. (I've found the PO lived near mud-dobbers/wasps and mudhouses have been built in various locations and wonder if a drain tube is clogged) In VW Love, Light & Laughter, Jay > |
