On an interesting side note, I had my Jeep in the dealer to get a recall taken care of and the service manager told me that my car was scheduled to have the throttle body decarbonized and the fuel injectors flushed. My Jeep has 53K miles and this is "recommended" from the dealership every 25K. I hate it when they try to get people to buy in to their goofy maintenance. I declined the extra service, but I should have asked him what was involved with these difficult sounding services. I'm sure he would have given me an important sounding story, but I'd be surprised if they did anything more than spray some carb cleaner in the intake, and put a bottle of fuel injector cleaner in the tank. Flush the fuel injectors, come on. -Phil 89 Westy |
