My wife and I are looking to buy a camper soon. About ten years ago we bought a 1972 bus w/ a safari top, and we loved that bus so much. Of course, we were bitten by the fact that it was a ’72, and I spent a lot of time with more than half of my body crammed into the engine compartment . . . Of course, prior to buying it, I did not realize that the ’72 was a an evolutionary leap-frog model. This is the type of thing I would like to avoid now, as we are looking at buying an 80’s period Vanagon. Are there any years / models that we should avoid?? Thanks so much. . . it may end up saving us our sanity / wallets! -Clay
