Subject: Re: modifications

I have an 84 that was a regular 7 passenger, I have done many things back and fourth. First I took all of the original seats out and put in the weekender folding bed bench, along with a table that is removable pedastal type. I also took the middle bench seat and turned it around to face the rear by taking out one of the tracks and welding it back around. Of course now the table sits in the middle of the seats . On the pass seat I welded a small little bracket on the inner side of the seat rail slides , so the seat can slide right out and be turned 180 degrees to face the back when camping or whatever, this is locked in with a small small pin that goes thru the small hole I drilled thru the bracket and seat slide rail. The pin keeps the seat steady. Also the middle seat can be slid out which it is now when needed. I made a ladder for the side of the van so you can get to the handmade cargo rack. And surf racks. I put a long florescent light above the sliding door , I also have a custom hitch I made which tows the small stuff around, there are a number of other things over the years but I find the weekender to be very handy as far as floor space is concerned. I have a nice 10 x 8 awning that ataches to the roof rack the awning is made of marine type vynel , it is almost the same color as the lower portion of the van. Hans from NJ.
