Understand that striking the tool with a hammer is the same as striking your bearings with a hammer. Dimples races are not a good thing.

Use a 3/4" breaker bar properly or go to a truck shop with a 3/4" drive air gun to loosen them. You still need the breaker bar to re-torque it properly so may as well do that. But I have actually seen one that sheared a high quality 3/4" drive cross bar. It took a bit of time with the 3/4" air gun to get that one. It was that one out of a hundred that Chinese tools wouldn't have a chance against.
