Subject: Re: Cartop Yakima Spacecase ...

I've had one for two years....like the extra space but very hard to open a Westy pop-top with one on the roof....even empty. Must (at least)empty it to open the top. Also hard to get into....need a ladder or step stool to reach. And its always there and full of gear and the extra weight when not traveling...i.e. gas mileage penalty.

I've been considering a trailer hitch mounted box instead...which can be removed and stowed in the garage except when needed for trips.

Anyone have one of these type???....Wondering how it effects the handling of the van with the extra weight hanging off the back.

Warren C.
