Let's see... way back when I was in the USN and lived in St. Pete, the Sunshine Skyway Bridge was a lot higher than either of the Tampa/St Pete bridges. It connected St Pete with Bradenton, across Tampa Bay. Had to be high to let those tankers and freighters under... in '78 one tried to go through it!
