The diameter of the fan body should be 305mm in diameter. This is for the 450 watt fan that was used on 87-91 Vanagons with A/C. If this is the fan that you have then it is plenty of flow (the thing is like a hurricane). Anything larger and when it kicks in the van won't need a waterboxer motor, it will be sucked along by the negative pressure vortex created by this fan.

I would like to know what the size of the fan is from someone that has a fan off and can get to it. I am looking to change out to a higher flowing fan to improve A/C cooling in the heat of AZ.
