        Back in 2001 year, almost exactly two years ago, I posted my '91
        Carat's smog test results after it had a complete tune-up. I was
        a bit amazed at the results.


        Today it got its biennial emission test


        Interestingly the Carat 2 years later runs cleaner at 2500 and
        idles cleaner (lower HC) but emits more carbon monoxide at 2500
        but less at idle...possibly due to the bottle of Techron additive
        I put in at fill-up prior to the test?

               Carat miles:  109K in 2001; 130K in 2003.


        Emissions testing has gone up $15-$20 with no discernable
        difference in the procedure for vehicles without an OBD-II.
